The allure of harnessing fusion energy lies in its potential to be a nearly limitless, clean power source. Unlike fossil fuels, fusion doesn’t emit harmful greenhouse gases or produce long-lasting radioactive waste. The primary fuel for fusion, isotopes of hydrogen, such as deuterium and tritium, is abundant in nature, with deuterium being readily extractable from seawater. MIFTI is now poised to construct a 10 MA (mega ampere) device, and advance our technology to breakeven and beyond. Our SZP invention stands out for its simplicity and cost-effective production and operation that requires only a modest budget compared to other complex, high-cost, and less viable fusion ventures. The MIFTI LTDX-10 machine is a scaled up model of our experimental LTD-III device, and exemplifies the SZP fusion capability for successful high flux neutron production and net energy gain.
